Position Description:
Our client is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice. The ideal candidate will work on cutting‑edge technologies for leading companies across sectors such as aerospace, artificial intelligence, encryption, automation, robotics, clean energy, and digital health. This position offers the opportunity to engage deeply with technical teams as well as senior stakeholders at major technology organizations.
The role involves significant partner and client interaction and provides the advantages that come from working within a highly collaborative, globally integrated legal environment. Candidates should be comfortable managing meaningful responsibility without micro‑management, as the team values autonomy and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support patent prosecution and patent counseling matters.
- Collaborate with engineers, developers, and business leaders to understand emerging technologies.
- Handle a broad range of IP‑related work, with opportunities for cross‑disciplinary assignments involving advanced and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of patent prosecution and counseling experience (junior‑ to mid‑level).
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, computer science, or equivalent technical field.
- For associates: J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school.
- U.S. Patent Bar registration required; state bar membership required for attorney candidates.
Compensation
- Expected annual salary range:
- Associates: $235,000 – $310,000
- Actual compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications.
- Eligible for performance‑based bonuses and discretionary bonuses.
