Position Description:
Our client is seeking a Healthcare Associate to join its established team in Nashville. This role focuses on advising healthcare clients on a wide range of regulatory, compliance, and operational matters in a complex and evolving legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Advise healthcare providers and organizations on day-to-day operational and regulatory issues
- Counsel clients on provider and facility licensing, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations
- Provide guidance on matters involving the federal Stark Law, federal and state anti-kickback statutes, and other healthcare fraud and abuse laws
- Conduct regulatory risk assessments and assist with government inquiries and enforcement matters
- Support clients on compliance strategies and policy development
- Assist with the regulatory aspects of healthcare transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
Experience & Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in healthcare regulatory law at a law firm
- Strong background in healthcare compliance and regulatory analysis
- Experience with facility licensing, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and fraud, waste, and abuse compliance preferred
- Familiarity with healthcare privacy laws and regulatory considerations in healthcare transactions is a plus
- Exceptional legal writing, drafting, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Demonstrated academic achievement and transferable legal skills
- Active license to practice law in Tennessee, or willingness to obtain licensure
