A growing real estate and corporate transactional law firm in downtown Evanston is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its collaborative team supporting sophisticated transactional matters across multiple jurisdictions nationwide.
This is not a rigid Big Law environment. The culture is highly interactive, fast paced, entrepreneurial, and relationship driven. The team works closely together throughout the day and values strong communication, accountability, professionalism, responsiveness, and personality fit.
The practice is 100% transactional and includes:
• Commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions
• Commercial leasing
• Lending and financing matters
• Corporate structuring and entity formation
• Partnership and operating agreements
• Investment and business transactions
• Residential real estate transactions
• National transactional matters across multiple jurisdictions
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Attorney will support the firm’s real estate and corporate transactional practice, working closely with attorneys and staff on a wide range of sophisticated matters from inception through closing. This attorney will play a hands-on role throughout the full transactional lifecycle while maintaining the firm’s commitment to responsiveness, attention to detail, and practical client service.
This is a full-time, in-person position based in downtown Evanston.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct legal research and analysis involving real estate, corporate, and transactional matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, purchase agreements, leases, loan documents, operating agreements, and other transactional documents
• Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, entity formations, joint ventures, and commercial leasing matters
• Coordinate due diligence processes and work closely with title companies, lenders, brokers, opposing counsel, and clients
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely, responsive, and practical legal counsel
• Ensure transactions comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards
• Manage multiple sophisticated transactional matters simultaneously
• Accurately record time and manage workflow responsibilities in accordance with firm expectations
QUALIFICATIONS
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Illinois bar admission required
• 1–5+ years of transactional attorney experience required
• Commercial real estate and/or corporate transactional law experience required
• Experience with closings, contracts, leasing, financing, lending, and entity matters required
• Strong legal research, drafting, writing, analytical, and organizational skills required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
• Collaborative personality with strong attention to detail and professionalism required
• Litigators or attorneys seeking a complete practice pivot will not be considered
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
• $100K-$160K per year, compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications
