Labor & Employment Associate (5-7 yrs.) – Chicago

The firm represents a diverse and engaging client base, including private equity firms, founders, startups, venture capital investors, family offices, and public companies.
Position Description:
Our client is seeking a talented and energetic attorney with at least five years of experience advising on employment law matters, workplace disputes, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of relevant experience, with a demonstrated ability to handle the types of matters outlined below
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active law license in Illinois or another U.S. jurisdiction
- Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that is experiencing growth
- Candidates based in the Chicagoland area are preferred
Ideal Experience:
- Familiarity with key employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and applicable state law equivalents
- Experience litigating single-plaintiff employment discrimination matters before administrative agencies (such as the EEOC and comparable state agencies) and in federal and state courts
- Experience drafting employment-related agreements, including employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, and employee handbooks
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions as a labor and employment specialist, or a willingness to do so
- Exposure to labor matters, collective bargaining, or class/collective employment litigation is a plus
