Position Description:
Litigation Paralegal
Location: Washington, D.C.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Our client is seeking a mid-level Litigation Paralegal to join its Antitrust, Competition, and Economic Regulation practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile antitrust investigations, litigation, and regulatory matters, providing critical support across all phases of case development—from initial investigation through trial and resolution.
A significant portion of this role focuses on Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) premerger notification filings, making it ideal for candidates with strong experience in antitrust regulatory compliance and complex document management.
Key Responsibilities
Antitrust & Litigation Support
- Support attorneys through all phases of antitrust investigations and litigation, including discovery, hearings, trial, and case closure
- Draft and manage correspondence, discovery materials, briefs, and settlement documentation
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and trial site coordination
- Conduct legal research and prepare concise memoranda summarizing findings
- Cite-check, proofread, and edit legal documents
HSR & Regulatory Filing Support
- Serve as a subject matter expert for HSR filings
- Draft client information requests and supporting memoranda
- Prepare and complete HSR forms and coordinate filings with regulatory agencies
- Manage and organize supporting documentation for submissions
Document & Case Management
- Oversee document retrieval, review, organization, and production
- Maintain case files, pleadings, transcripts, and discovery materials
- Manage databases for documents, transcripts, and work product
- Coordinate with external litigation and eDiscovery vendors
Team Support & Leadership
- Train and mentor junior paralegals as needed
- Maintain client advisory databases
- Assist with firmwide initiatives and additional projects as assigned
- Uphold strict confidentiality standards
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- 4–6 years of relevant paralegal experience, preferably in antitrust or complex litigation
- Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience)
- Paralegal certificate preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Expectations
- Meet an annual billable requirement of approximately 1,650 hours
- Flexibility to work extended hours and travel as needed
- Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $93,400 – $109,500, depending on experience and qualifications
