Position Description:

Real Estate Transactions & Finance Associate (3–6 Years)

Our client is seeking a Real Estate Transactions & Finance Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its expanding real estate practice. This opportunity is available across multiple offices, including Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley.

This role offers the chance to work alongside highly regarded real estate practitioners on complex, high-profile, national transactions across a wide range of asset classes and industries.

Practice Overview

Our client’s real estate team combines legal and strategic advisory services, working collaboratively with attorneys, planners, and business professionals to guide clients through sophisticated transactions and development projects.

The team represents a diverse client base, including institutional investors, developers, and large corporate organizations, and handles matters spanning all phases of the real estate lifecycle, including:

  • Mixed-use development projects
  • Debt and equity financings
  • Joint ventures
  • Acquisitions and dispositions
  • Hospitality and retail transactions
  • Affordable housing and infrastructure projects
  • Construction and development matters
  • Complex leasing arrangements
  • Loan restructurings and public-private partnerships

The practice covers a broad range of industries, including office, multifamily, retail, hospitality, healthcare, infrastructure, industrial, energy, and emerging sectors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, and other transactional agreements
  • Manage transaction processes, including closing checklists and closing documentation
  • Advise on and execute real estate financing transactions, with an emphasis on mortgage debt structures
  • Support acquisitions, dispositions, development, and joint venture transactions
  • Draft and negotiate commercial leases and related agreements
  • Work on complex real estate documents such as construction agreements, CC&Rs, REAs, declarations, and easements (preferred)
  • Collaborate across offices and practice groups on large, multidisciplinary deals

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of real estate transactional experience
  • Demonstrated experience with real estate finance (preferably borrower-side) and purchase/sale transactions
  • Experience with leasing and joint ventures is a plus
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to work independently
  • Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $260,000 – $390,000, depending on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations.
