Position Description:
Permanent Placements is seeking a Senior Associate with 5–8 years of labor and employment litigation experience to join a growing Trial & Defense practice serving California employers.
This is a high-exposure litigation role handling complex employment disputes in state and federal courts.
Work Structure
This position operates with a remote structure. Attorneys are not required to maintain a traditional in-office schedule.
However, candidates must reside in the Los Angeles area and be available to attend in-person depositions, hearings, mediations, trials, and client meetings as required.
This role offers flexibility while maintaining active courtroom and client-facing responsibilities.
The Practice
The group represents employers in matters including:

Discrimination and retaliation claims

Reasonable accommodation disputes
-
Advice and counsel regarding discipline and termination
-
Litigation in California state and federal courts
This is a hands-on litigation position with meaningful responsibility.
Responsibilities

Manage approximately 10–20 active matters

Investigate claims and develop case strategy
-
Respond to complaints in state and federal court
-
Draft and respond to discovery
-
Review and analyze documents for production
-
Conduct legal research using Westlaw
-
Take and defend depositions
-
Draft pleadings and motions
-
Attend hearings and argue motions
-
Prepare pre-trial and trial materials
-
Participate in mediations and trials
-
Communicate directly with clients
Qualifications
-
5–8 years of labor and employment litigation experience
-
Active California Bar admission
-
Strong academic credentials
-
Experience across all phases of litigation
-
Strong writing and oral advocacy skills
-
Ability to independently manage multiple matters
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $175,000 – $240,000
