Position Description:
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an associate to join its Special Matters & Government Investigations practice in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high‑stakes investigations and regulatory matters within a sophisticated and collaborative practice.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience handling government investigations, internal investigations, and white collar or regulatory matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high‑profile matters and gain significant experience advising clients on sensitive and strategic issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in government and internal investigations, including fact development and analysis
  • Support white collar defense and regulatory matters across a range of industries
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, reports, and other key documents
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client advisement
  • Manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in government investigations, internal investigations, or white collar/regulatory matters
  • Strong academic credentials from a top law school
  • Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Foreign language skills and willingness to travel are a plus

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $260,000 – $365,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, internal equity, market data, and other relevant factors.
