Kirkland Recruits Ropes’ Head of Private Equity Industry Group

This year, Kirkland & Ellis has attracted Carolyn Vardi, the head of the private equity sector division at Ropes & Gray, as a partner in its New York office, continuing to entice top talent from competitors. Her arrival on Wednesday was verified by the firm.

Only two weeks have passed since Kirk landed brought on a three-partner M&A team from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, along with a host of other associates. In an effort to expand its litigation and transactional teams following a record fiscal year, the firm has also acquired sizable mass tort teams from Skadden and King & Spalding this year.
