Position Description:

Commercial Litigation Associate – California

Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. This role is suited for candidates with 4–6 years of experience handling complex litigation matters, strong academic credentials, and demonstrated analytical ability.

Associates in this practice work closely with partners and clients and play a key role in managing sophisticated, high-stakes disputes from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Handling all phases of commercial litigation, from initial case development through trial and appeal
• Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda
• Preparing pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
• Developing case strategies and complex case analyses
• Managing all aspects of discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions
• Collaborating with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel

• Deposition and courtroom experience is preferred
• Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred
• Experience or interest in first-party insurance bad faith and/or financial services or securities litigation is a plus

Requirements:

• Admission to the California Bar and in good standing
