Position Description:
We are partnering with our client, a leading national law firm, to identify a Litigation Associate to join its Government Practice in Rockford, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex disputes
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Advise clients on litigation strategy and risk assessment
• Collaborate with colleagues on land use and environmental matters, as applicable

Qualifications

• Admission to the Illinois Bar in good standing
• Strong background in commercial litigation required
• Experience with land use and environmental law is a plus
• Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills

Work Environment & Compensation

Our client offers a flexible, hybrid work arrangement supporting both in-office and remote work. The anticipated salary range for Illinois-based candidates is $125,000–$160,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and market factors.
