Dentons advises UniCredit on €500 million financing to Equitix Summit III BidCo

Dentons has successfully advised UniCredit Bank GmbH on a significant €500 million financing arrangement with Equitix Summit III BidCo, aimed at developing a diverse renewable energy portfolio in Spain. This portfolio includes solar, wind, and hybridization assets, structured through a Luxembourg HoldCo platform and managed via multiple project special purpose vehicles (SPVs). The transaction required the provision of senior financing alongside a sophisticated security package to mitigate structural subordination issues commonly associated with HoldCo-level financings. The complexity of the deal necessitated a coordinated approach combining finance and energy law expertise, reflecting its cross-border nature. The Dentons team was led by Banking and Finance partner Luis Belart and Energy partner Fermín Garbayo, supported by associates in Madrid and partners in London and Luxembourg.
