Position Description:
An elite, global law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Investigations, Compliance & Defense Practice in Chicago. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of relevant experience, though current 2026 judicial clerks will also be considered.

The firm offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where attorneys work on a broad range of complex, high-stakes matters involving internal investigations, regulatory compliance, and defense work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide client counseling on sensitive and complex matters
  • Conduct legal research and fact development
  • Draft and edit memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Engage in strategic analysis and case development
  • Advocate before courts and governmental agencies

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of relevant investigations, compliance, or litigation experience (preferred)
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to pro bono work
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Active Illinois bar membership required

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected starting base salary range for this position is $260,000 – $365,000 annually, with actual compensation determined based on experience, skills, and other relevant factors in accordance with applicable law.
