Position Description:
A national law firm is seeking a mid- to senior-level litigation attorney to join its Aviation & Aerospace practice in Chicago. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex civil defense matters and grow within a collaborative, high-performing team. Attorneys will take on meaningful responsibility early and work on a diverse caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and litigate civil defense matters in state and federal courts
- Prepare cases for trial, including discovery, depositions, and pre-trial motions
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings and briefs
- Collaborate with team members while independently managing assigned files
- Participate in client communications and case strategy development
- Travel as needed for case-related work
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar
- Experience in civil defense litigation required
- Strong writing, research, discovery, and deposition skills
- Ability to manage cases with minimal supervision
- Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Preferred (not required):
- Experience in aviation law, product liability, and/or premises liability
- Trial experience
