Position Description:
Our client is seeking a Conflicts & Risk Attorney to join their team. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex conflicts matters in a fast-paced legal environment. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review conflicts reports and summarize key issues requiring further action

  • Analyze and resolve conflicts of interest in accordance with applicable professional responsibility rules and internal policies

  • Clearly outline required actions for requesting and impacted partners, with escalation to firm counsel when appropriate

  • Draft and revise conflict waiver language in collaboration with attorneys and firm counsel

  • Oversee and coordinate conflicts clearance for lateral partner and associate hires

Qualifications & Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active Illinois bar license required

  • 4–5 years of experience in conflicts, risk management, or compliance within a mid-to-large law firm

  • Strong working knowledge of professional responsibility rules (e.g., ABA Model Rules, relevant U.S. state and federal regulations, and international ethics standards)

  • Experience reviewing conflicts reports involving corporate structures, affiliated entities, and prior representations

  • Proficiency with conflicts software (e.g., Intapp) and research tools (e.g., D&B, Capital IQ)
