Position Description:
Our client, leading international law firm, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney with at least one year of experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and joint venture transactions, with an interest in Energy & Infrastructure work. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions for a diverse range of clients across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded Energy & Infrastructure practice and advise investors, developers, operators, utilities, financial institutions, and other market participants on complex transactions involving renewable energy, conventional power generation, oil and gas, infrastructure assets, energy transition projects, and emerging energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on energy and infrastructure M&A transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and strategic partnerships.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and related commercial contracts.
  • Conduct legal due diligence and support transaction execution from inception through closing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams on complex, high-value transactions.
  • Counsel clients on legal, commercial, and regulatory issues affecting energy and infrastructure investments.
  • Manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of one year of experience handling M&A and joint venture matters, with an interest in developing their practice in Energy & Infrastructure.
  • Prior experience in Energy & Infrastructure preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials and demonstrated legal writing abilities.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of the jurisdiction where the candidate will be practicing, or eligibility to obtain admission as required.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected annual base salary range: $260,000 – $435,000.
