Position Description:

Commercial Litigation Associate

Our client, an Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate (4-6 years) to join its Los Angeles office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated commercial disputes within a collaborative and nationally recognized litigation practice. The successful candidate will take on significant responsibility handling complex litigation matters while working closely with experienced litigators and clients across a variety of industries.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all phases of complex commercial litigation matters
• Conduct legal research and prepare:
  • Motions
  • Briefs
  • Memoranda
  • Pleadings
  • Discovery-related documents
• Develop case strategy and support litigation teams on complex disputes
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
• Manage litigation workstreams and case deadlines
• Collaborate with partners, associates, clients, experts, and co-counsel
• Support client counseling and case assessment efforts
• Participate in business development initiatives, including:
  • Client pitches
  • Presentations
  • Marketing efforts
  • Relationship-building activities

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
• 4-6 years of commercial litigation experience
• Prior law firm experience preferred
• Strong experience with:
  • Legal research
  • Brief writing
  • Motion practice
  • Complex litigation matters
• Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Outstanding academic credentials
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Desire to take on significant responsibility and client-facing work
