Position Description:
Labor & Employment Associate
Our client, a highly respected Pacific Northwest law firm, is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney with 6-12 years of experience to join its Labor, Employment & Immigration Practice Group in Seattle. Depending on experience and business development capabilities, candidates may be considered at the Associate, Counsel, or senior-level leadership track.This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney seeking a sophisticated employment practice that combines litigation, counseling, and strategic client advisory work. The successful candidate will represent employers across a diverse range of industries and will have significant client contact, responsibility, and opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Represent employers in labor and employment litigation matters, including:
- Single-plaintiff employment claims
- Class and collective actions
- Discrimination and harassment claims
- Wage and hour disputes
- Leave and accommodation matters
- Advise employers on day-to-day workplace issues and risk management strategies
- Draft and review:
- Employment agreements
- Separation and settlement agreements
- Workplace policies
- Employee handbooks
- Counsel employers regarding:
- Disability accommodations
- Leave management
- Employment law compliance
- Workplace investigations
- Manage litigation strategy, discovery, motion practice, mediations, and hearings
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through practical and responsive legal advice
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on complex matters
- Participate in business development and client outreach initiatives
- Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar
- 6-12 years of labor and employment law experience
- Significant experience in:
- Employment litigation
- Advice and counseling
- Wage and hour matters
- Anti-discrimination and harassment claims
- Leave and accommodation issues
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and client service abilities
- Ability to independently manage multiple complex matters
- Strong organizational and case management skills
- Demonstrated interest in business development and client relationship building
Preferred Qualifications
- Traditional labor law experience
- Collective bargaining experience
- Experience advising unionized employers
- Oregon employment law or litigation experience
- Oregon Bar admission
- Portable business for candidates interested in a senior-level role

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $205,000 – $350,000 annually
