Position Description:

Real Estate Finance Associate

Our client, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate with 4+ years of experience to join its Finance practice in Denver.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking to work on sophisticated real estate finance transactions within a highly regarded national finance platform. The successful candidate will gain exposure to complex lending, structured finance, preferred equity investments, and distressed real estate matters while working closely with clients and senior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in a broad range of real estate finance transactions

• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents relating to:

  • Mortgage and mezzanine financing

  • Preferred equity investments

  • Structured real estate finance transactions

  • Distressed real estate transactions

  • Other debt, debt-like, and equity investments

• Conduct legal due diligence and assist with transaction structuring

• Manage transactions from inception through closing

• Coordinate with clients, lenders, borrowers, investors, and other transaction parties

• Collaborate with internal specialists and deal teams to execute complex real estate finance matters

• Maintain direct client contact and assist in developing long-term client relationships

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Active Colorado Bar admission

• 4+ years of transactional experience focused on real estate finance

• Experience with a broad range of:

  • Real estate secured lending transactions

  • Debt and debt-like investments

  • Equity investments involving real estate assets

• Experience representing lenders, borrowers, or a combination of both

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent academic credentials

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Ability to manage multiple sophisticated transactions simultaneously

Preferred Experience

• Structured real estate finance transactions

• Preferred equity investments

• Distressed commercial real estate transactions

• Complex commercial lending matters

• National or regional finance practice experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $230,000 – $285,000 annually

• Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit
