Position Description:

Commercial Litigation Associate

Our client, a nationally recognized Am Law firm, is seeking a junior Litigation Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join its Commercial Litigation practice in Los Angeles.

This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation associate looking to work on sophisticated and high-profile matters, including complex commercial litigation, class action litigation, and public entity litigation. The successful candidate will gain substantial responsibility early in their career while working closely with experienced litigators in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of complex litigation matters from inception through resolution

• Conduct legal research and draft:

  • Motions

  • Briefs

  • Pleadings

  • Memoranda

  • Discovery-related documents

• Assist with litigation strategy, case development, and trial preparation

• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

• Handle discovery and document management responsibilities

• Collaborate with attorneys, clients, experts, and co-counsel on sophisticated litigation matters

• Support matters involving:

  • Complex commercial disputes

  • Class action litigation

  • Public entity litigation

• Participate in business development activities, including:

  • Client pitches

  • Presentations

  • Marketing initiatives

  • Relationship-building efforts

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Active membership in good standing with the California Bar

• 2-4 years of litigation experience

• Prior law firm experience preferred

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities

• Outstanding academic credentials

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

• Strong organizational and case-management skills

• Desire to assume significant responsibility and direct client exposure

Preferred Experience
