Position Description:
Our client, a well-established and highly respected law firm, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Manchester office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with three to seven years of experience handling complex corporate and commercial disputes who is looking for meaningful litigation responsibility and direct client exposure within a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of commercial litigation matters and play an active role in all phases of dispute resolution, from pleadings and discovery through motion practice and case strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent corporate and commercial clients in complex business disputes.
- Draft and argue pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including electronic discovery (e-discovery).
- Conduct legal research and prepare substantive legal analyses.
- Assist with deposition preparation and participation.
- Appear in court proceedings, hearings, and other litigation-related matters, as applicable.
- Develop case strategy and collaborate with clients and litigation teams.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Hampshire Bar is required.
- 3–7 years of commercial litigation experience.
- Experience handling complex corporate and commercial disputes.
- Strong experience with:
- Pleadings
- Motion practice
- Discovery
- E-discovery
- Deposition and courtroom experience preferred.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound professional judgment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced practice.
Compensation
