Labor & Employment Associate

Position Overview

Our client, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate to join its Los Angeles office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with at least four years of employment litigation experience who is looking to work on sophisticated, high-profile matters for a diverse client base while building a long-term career with a collaborative and growing labor and employment practice. The successful candidate will have significant responsibility handling employment litigation matters through all phases of litigation and will contribute to the continued growth of the firm's California Labor & Employment practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters.
  • Independently manage cases from inception through resolution.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including:
    • Case assessment and strategy
    • Pleadings and motion practice
    • Discovery
    • Depositions
    • Court appearances
    • Trial preparation
    • Resolution and settlement negotiations
  • Manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work product.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients on complex employment-related disputes.
  • Develop litigation strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to clients.
  • Contribute to business and practice development initiatives as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum 4 years of employment litigation experience.
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters through all stages of the dispute process.
  • Strong project and case management skills.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience handling multiple matters in a fast-paced practice environment.
  • Deposition experience preferred.
  • Courtroom experience preferred.
  • Outstanding academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation

Base Salary: $265,000 – $365,000 annually

This range represents the anticipated salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location.
