Are Some Law Firms That Settled With the President Getting the Cold Shoulder From Legal Departments?

According to multiple general counsels, law firms that have complied with Trump’s requests are losing business to those who oppose the government. One GC named two specific companies that have seen some work go. According to firm leaders, firms that have signed amicus briefs in support of parties involved in litigation have received positive feedback from clients and lateral partners.

Microsoft is not the only company that has recently switched law firms in the wake of President Trump’s ongoing battle with Big Law. Some in-house lawyers are tactfully declining employment from some law firms that have made deals with President Trump, stating that they disapprove of such agreements, according to conversations with legal department chiefs.
