Position Description:
California Assistant Managing Attorney
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bay Area Managing Attorney’s Office
- Supervise managing attorney staff and coordinate workflow across litigation support functions
- Manage and oversee court docketing and calendaring systems for litigation matters
- Monitor litigation deadlines, hearings, filings, and court schedules
- Coordinate and supervise the filing and service of litigation documents in federal and state courts
- Research and retrieve court filings, dockets, and public records
- Advise attorneys regarding:
- Federal court procedures
- California state court procedures
- Local court filing requirements
- Litigation deadlines and compliance obligations

- Review draft litigation filings to ensure procedural compliance
- Monitor developments in court rules and filing procedures
- Provide training and guidance regarding procedural requirements and best practices
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys and court personnel
- Assist with attorney admissions to federal and state courts
- Coordinate communications regarding filing issues, procedural matters, and court requirements
- Oversee litigation docketing and calendaring processes
- Ensure deadlines are accurately tracked and communicated
- Support attorneys and litigation teams throughout all phases of case management
- Assist with complex procedural and administrative litigation issues
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
- At least 3 years of litigation experience as a practicing attorney, or
- At least 5 years of experience in a Managing Attorney's Office, Managing Clerk's Office, or comparable legal operations role
- Prior supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- Federal court procedures
- California state court procedures
- Local court rules and practices

- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, court personnel, and legal support teams
- Prior experience in a federal or California state court clerk's office
- Experience supporting complex commercial, antitrust, or litigation practices
- Admission to federal courts in California
- Experience supervising litigation support personnel

- Base Salary: $200,000 – $230,000 annually
