Position Description:
Litigation Attorney (1–5 Years Experience)
Location: Multiple Offices in CaliforniaOur client is seeking a litigation attorney with 1–5 years of experience to join their automotive product liability and warranty litigation team. They are looking for a bright litigator who understands the litigation process, possesses strong writing skills, and is highly motivated and proactive in managing their caseload. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently handling discovery matters and contributing to trial preparation, with a genuine interest in working on complex litigation.
Our client’s team is passionate about their practice and committed to meeting litigation and client‑driven deadlines efficiently and effectively. The practice includes representing a wide range of clients, such as transportation and aviation entities, municipal bodies, automotive manufacturers, government contractors, retailers, and manufacturers of commercial, aviation, space, military, and consumer products, as well as their insurers.
This position is primarily based in our client’s Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Francisco offices, though strong candidates in other California locations may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking depositions, arguing motions, and attending court hearings and mediations.
- Drafting motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests, interrogatories, and other litigation documents.
- Conducting complex legal research, preparing memoranda, and analyzing case issues.
- Preparing status reports and recommendations for clients.
- Reviewing document productions in preparation for litigation.
- Managing all phases of litigation, from initial responsive pleadings through trial.
Essential Skills & Experience
Preferred candidates will have experience in aviation, products liability, or automotive warranty matters. Additional requirements and preferred skills include:
- Admission to the California Bar.
- Experience with discovery and law‑and‑motion practice.
- Experience with California Lemon Law, including the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
- Experience in both state and federal courts.
- Strong academic credentials and consistent work history.
- Superior writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple time‑sensitive projects.
- Detail orientation, strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $125,000–$190,000. This range reflects various factors considered in compensation decisions, including experience level, skills, certifications, and organizational needs. Geographic differentials may apply. It is uncommon for candidates to be hired at the top of the range, and final compensation will depend on the specific circumstances of each hire.
