Position Description:
Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Associate
Our client, a nationally recognized Am Law firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate with 1-7 years of complex commercial litigation experience to join its Business & Commercial Litigation practice in San Diego.This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking hands-on litigation experience across a broad range of sophisticated business disputes. The successful candidate will work directly with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to privately held businesses and entrepreneurs, handling matters in both state and federal courts.
Responsibilities
- Represent corporate and business clients in complex commercial litigation matters
- Handle disputes involving:
- Financial fraud
- Securities-related claims
- Breach of contract
- Breach of fiduciary duty
- Partnership disputes
- Shareholder disputes
- Commercial lending and loan disputes
- Construction litigation
- UCC-related litigation
- Manage all phases of litigation, including:
- Case assessment and strategy
- Written discovery
- Depositions
- Motion practice
- Court appearances
- Mediations
- Arbitrations
- Trial preparation
- Draft and argue substantive motions and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and prepare litigation memoranda
- Collaborate with clients, experts, and litigation teams on case strategy
- Manage multiple matters in a fast-paced litigation environment
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
- 1-7 years of complex commercial litigation experience
- Experience handling:
- Motion practice
- Depositions
- Discovery
- Court appearances
- Mediation and arbitration proceedings
- Trial preparation
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities
- Strong organizational and project-management skills
- Ability to independently manage significant case responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- White Collar Defense experience
- Government Investigations experience
- Experience handling sophisticated business disputes in federal and state courts

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $145,000 – $190,000 annually
- Compensation based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit
