The firm represents a diverse and engaging client base, including private equity firms, founders, startups, venture capital investors, family offices, and public companies.

Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to support our client's growing transactional practice, with a primary focus on advising on employment-related matters in mergers & acquisitions and corporate transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide labor & employment support in M&A transactions, including due diligence, risk assessment, and deal structuring
  • Advise clients on employment-related compliance issues under federal, state, and local laws
  • Draft and negotiate:
    • Employment agreements
    • Restrictive covenant agreements
    • Separation and retention agreements
    • Executive compensation and related documents
  • Review and advise on employee policies, handbooks, and workplace practices
  • Counsel clients on employment law risks related to corporate transactions and business operations

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active law license (Illinois preferred; open to other states)
  • 5-8 years of experience, ideally in labor & employment with transactional exposure
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, including:
    • Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and state equivalents
  • Experience supporting M&A or corporate transactions strongly preferred
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
