Position Description:
Our client is seeking a junior associate with one to three years of experience to join its growing Healthcare Practice Group in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role focuses on healthcare regulatory compliance and administrative litigation matters, including state licensure actions, payor recoupments, and false claims issues.

The ideal candidate will have prior litigation experience, preferably with exposure to healthcare-related matters such as medical malpractice. Candidates with healthcare compliance experience and a strong interest in litigation are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regulatory compliance research and analyze healthcare-related legal issues
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery materials
  • Take and defend depositions and assist with trial preparation
  • Support hearings and court appearances
  • Advise on a range of healthcare regulatory matters

This position provides significant exposure to key healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, the False Claims Act, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, facility licensure requirements, and reimbursement frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of relevant litigation and/or healthcare experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) with strong academic credentials
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar, or ability to obtain admission within one year
  • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to responsiveness, attention to detail, and client service
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
