Position Description:

Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate (3+ Years) – Seattle

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing insurance coverage practice in Seattle.

About the Opportunity

This role focuses on advising insurance clients on complex coverage issues and defending against bad faith claims across multiple jurisdictions. It is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in developing deep expertise in insurance coverage while gaining hands-on litigation experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze insurance policies and advise clients on coverage rights and obligations
  • Draft detailed coverage opinions and provide strategic legal guidance
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and related briefing
  • Review and analyze case materials in coverage litigation matters
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations
  • Proactively manage case deadlines, strategy, and client reporting

Qualifications

  • Admission to the Washington State Bar required
  • Experience in insurance coverage or coverage litigation preferred; strong commercial litigation background will also be considered
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: approximately $125,000 – $200,000, depending on experience
