Junior Litigation Associate – Construction

Position Description:
Our client is seeking a Junior Construction Litigation Associate to join its growing litigation team in Nashville. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney looking to build a sophisticated litigation practice focused on construction disputes, complex commercial litigation, and contract-related matters.
The firm is open to candidates with 1-3 years of litigation experience, including attorneys currently serving in or recently completing a judicial clerkship. Prior construction litigation experience is beneficial but not required. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills are the highest priorities for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all phases of litigation from case inception through resolution, trial, and appeal.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and memoranda.
- Manage and participate in written discovery, document review, and fact investigations.
- Assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
- Collaborate with clients, experts, consultants, and litigation teams.
- Handle matters involving construction defects, delay claims, contract disputes, payment disputes, insurance-related issues, and other complex business litigation matters.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Tennessee or eligible for admission.
- 1-3 years of litigation experience, including judicial clerkship experience.
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical abilities.
- Strong oral advocacy and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.
- Demonstrated interest in litigation and dispute resolution.
Preferred Experience
- Current or recent federal, state, or appellate judicial clerkship.
- Experience with commercial litigation, construction litigation, or complex civil litigation.
- Drafting dispositive motions, briefs, and substantive legal filings.
- Trial preparation, courtroom exposure, or evidentiary hearing experience.
