Labor & Employment Associate
Position Overview
Our client, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with 3 to 4 years of experience to join its Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for an employment litigator seeking sophisticated employer-side representation involving single-plaintiff litigation, class actions, collective actions, and complex workplace disputes.The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent academic credentials, superior writing and communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to client service and professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Defend employers in a broad range of labor and employment litigation matters.
- Handle single-plaintiff employment claims from inception through resolution.
- Participate in class action and collective action litigation.
- Defend claims involving:
- Discrimination
- Harassment
- Retaliation
- Wrongful termination
- Wage and hour violations
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case analyses.
- Assist with discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Collaborate with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management.
- Provide high-quality client service and practical legal solutions.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 3 to 4 years of labor and employment litigation experience.
- Experience handling employment-related disputes, including:
- Single-plaintiff employment matters
- Class actions
- Collective actions
- Discrimination claims
- Harassment claims
- Retaliation claims
- Wrongful termination matters
- Wage and hour litigation
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in California.
- Strong academic credentials with a record of achievement.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to client service.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $260,000 to $295,000, depending on relevant years of experience.
Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other relevant factors.
