Position Description:
Employment Litigation Associate
Our client, a nationally recognized Am Law firm, is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience to join its growing Labor & Employment practice in San Francisco.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in developing a sophisticated employment law practice focused on single-plaintiff litigation, agency proceedings, and employment counseling matters. The successful candidate will take on significant responsibility, work directly with clients, and receive mentorship from experienced employment litigators within a collaborative and collegial environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day management of employment litigation matters under the guidance of partners and senior attorneys
- Represent employers in:
- Single-plaintiff employment litigation
- Administrative and agency proceedings
- Employment-related disputes

- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy analyses
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Advise clients on employment law compliance and workplace issues
- Assist with employment counseling matters and risk management strategies
- Work closely with clients to develop practical and business-focused solutions
- Support matters through all phases of litigation and dispute resolution
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
- At least 3 years of employment litigation experience
- Experience handling day-to-day litigation responsibilities
- Strong interest in trial work and litigation advocacy
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Strong oral communication and client-service abilities
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively
- Superior academic credentials

- Employment litigation defense
- Agency investigations and administrative proceedings

- Motion practice and discovery management

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Starting at $255,000+ annually
- Compensation will depend on experience, skillset, business needs, and market conditions
