Position Description:
A well-established, full-service national law firm is seeking an experienced Employment & Labor Attorney to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team on a broad range of employment counseling and litigation matters, while benefiting from strong mentorship, training, and long-term career development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and represent public and private employers on a wide range of employment and labor matters
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide strategic counseling on employment-related issues
  • Develop and implement employment policies and procedures
  • Draft employment agreements and restrictive covenant agreements
  • Handle matters involving non-competes, trade secrets, and wage and hour compliance
  • Manage administrative charges and employment-related litigation (including discrimination and restrictive covenant disputes)
  • Work on multiple matters simultaneously from inception through resolution
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to client development efforts

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years of employment law experience (targeting 2020–2023 JDs)
  • Background in employment counseling, litigation, or both
  • Experience with administrative agency proceedings
  • Exposure to traditional labor matters is a plus, including:
    • Collective bargaining
    • Union organizing and elections
    • Unfair labor practice proceedings (NLRB)
    • Labor disputes such as strikes and picketing

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required
  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri and in good standing
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and written/oral communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Interest in long-term growth within an employment & labor practice
