Position Description:

Litigation Attorney

Our client, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 4-7 years of defense litigation experience to join its California litigation team. This position offers the flexibility of a remote work arrangement based in Northern California while handling sophisticated litigation matters through all stages of the dispute process.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who wants significant case responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to further develop trial and litigation skills within a collaborative national platform.

Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution and trial preparation
  • Develop case strategies and advise clients regarding litigation risks and opportunities
  • Draft and argue:
    • Pleadings
    • Motions
    • Discovery responses
    • Briefs
    • Other substantive litigation filings
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Manage written discovery and case development
  • Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case strategy and developments
  • Collaborate with attorneys, experts, and litigation support professionals
  • Maintain high-quality work product while managing multiple deadlines and priorities

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
  • 4-7 years of defense litigation experience
  • Experience managing cases independently from inception through resolution
  • Strong motion practice, discovery, and deposition experience
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Strong organizational and case-management skills

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

  • Products Liability
  • Toxic Tort Litigation
  • General Liability Defense
  • Complex Civil Litigation
  • Trial Preparation and Trial Support
