Position Description:

Litigation Associate (Complex Business Litigation)

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of complex business litigation experience to join its Seattle office.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated, high-stakes litigation matters while collaborating closely with experienced litigators in a highly collegial and team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will gain meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and the opportunity to work on complex disputes at both the state and federal levels.
Responsibilities
  • Represent businesses and individuals in complex commercial litigation matters
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including:
    • Case assessment and strategy development
    • Legal research and analysis
    • Motion practice
    • Discovery management
    • Depositions
    • Trial preparation
    • Alternative dispute resolution proceedings
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, briefs, and other court filings
  • Manage large and sophisticated litigation matters and workstreams
  • Coordinate with clients, experts, co-counsel, and internal teams
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
  • Work closely with partners and senior litigators on local and national matters
  • Develop practical, business-focused solutions for clients facing complex disputes
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar
  • 3-5 years of complex business litigation experience
  • Minimum of one year of litigation experience at a law firm
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities
  • Experience managing sophisticated litigation matters
  • Strong organizational and case-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Judicial clerkship experience
  • Experience handling complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts
  • Significant motion practice and brief-writing experience
  • Experience working with large litigation teams and complex case management issues

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $260,000 – $365,000 annually
