Position Description:
Litigation Associate (Complex Business Litigation)
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of complex business litigation experience to join its Seattle office.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated, high-stakes litigation matters while collaborating closely with experienced litigators in a highly collegial and team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will gain meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and the opportunity to work on complex disputes at both the state and federal levels.
Responsibilities
- Represent businesses and individuals in complex commercial litigation matters
- Assist with all phases of litigation, including:
- Case assessment and strategy development
- Legal research and analysis
- Motion practice
- Discovery management
- Depositions
- Trial preparation
- Alternative dispute resolution proceedings

- Draft and argue substantive motions, briefs, and other court filings
- Manage large and sophisticated litigation matters and workstreams
- Coordinate with clients, experts, co-counsel, and internal teams
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
- Work closely with partners and senior litigators on local and national matters
- Develop practical, business-focused solutions for clients facing complex disputes
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar
- 3-5 years of complex business litigation experience
- Minimum of one year of litigation experience at a law firm
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities
- Experience managing sophisticated litigation matters
- Strong organizational and case-management skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications
- Judicial clerkship experience
- Experience handling complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts
- Significant motion practice and brief-writing experience
- Experience working with large litigation teams and complex case management issues

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $260,000 – $365,000 annually
- Compensation based on qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors
