Position Description:
Commercial Litigation Associate
Our client, an Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate (4-6 years) to join its Los Angeles office.This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated commercial disputes within a collaborative and nationally recognized litigation practice. The successful candidate will take on significant responsibility handling complex litigation matters while working closely with experienced litigators and clients across a variety of industries.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all phases of complex commercial litigation matters
- Conduct legal research and prepare:
- Motions
- Briefs
- Memoranda
- Pleadings
- Discovery-related documents
- Develop case strategy and support litigation teams on complex disputes
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Manage litigation workstreams and case deadlines
- Collaborate with partners, associates, clients, experts, and co-counsel
- Support client counseling and case assessment efforts
- Participate in business development initiatives, including:
- Client pitches
- Presentations
- Marketing efforts
- Relationship-building activities
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
- 4-6 years of commercial litigation experience
- Prior law firm experience preferred
- Strong experience with:
- Legal research
- Brief writing
- Motion practice
- Complex litigation matters
- Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Desire to take on significant responsibility and client-facing work

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $215,000 – $355,000 annually
- Compensation based on class year, experience, skills, and qualifications
