Position Description:
Our client is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join its growing Private Client practice in St. Louis. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or junior attorney looking to build a sophisticated trusts and estates practice alongside experienced practitioners serving high-net-worth individuals, families, family-owned businesses, and charitable organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Estate planning and wealth transfer strategies
- Trust and estate administration
- Gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax planning
- Charitable giving and philanthropic planning
- Family business succession planning
- Drafting estate planning documents and related legal research
- Developing long-term client relationships and providing exceptional client service
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 0–2 years of legal experience
- Strong interest in estate planning, trusts and estates, private wealth, and tax planning
- Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Strong academic credentials
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework in Estate & Gift Taxation, Generation-Skipping Transfer (GST) Tax, Trusts & Estates, and/or Income Taxation
- Exposure to estate planning, trust administration, wealth transfer planning, or tax-related matters through internships, clerkships, or prior legal experience
- Experience with gift, estate, or fiduciary income tax returns is a plus
Bar Admission
- Active Missouri law license preferred
- Candidates planning to sit for or awaiting results from the Missouri Bar Examination are encouraged to apply
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $175,000–$205,000, based on graduation year.
