Position Description:
Real Estate Finance Associate
This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney seeking to work on complex real estate finance transactions involving a diverse client base that includes developers, institutional investors, pension funds, investment advisors, REITs, and other major market participants. The successful candidate will gain significant transaction responsibility and direct client exposure while working on high-value financing matters.
Responsibilities
- Represent borrowers and lenders in a wide range of commercial real estate finance transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate:
- Loan agreements
- Security documents
- Guaranties
- Intercreditor agreements
- Ancillary financing documents

- Advise clients on acquisition financing, refinancing, development financing, and other complex real estate debt transactions
- Conduct due diligence and assist with transaction structuring
- Coordinate closings and manage transaction timelines
- Work closely with developers, investment funds, REITs, institutional investors, and other real estate market participants
- Collaborate with attorneys across related practice areas to support sophisticated real estate transactions
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
- 4-6 years of real estate finance experience
- Experience representing:
- Borrowers
- Lenders
- Or both sides of real estate financing transactions

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage substantial individual responsibility while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Strong academic credentials
- Major law firm experience
- Experience with sophisticated commercial real estate transactions
- Exposure to institutional real estate investors and complex financing structures
- Strong client-management skills
