Position Description:

Investment Management Associate

Our client, a highly regarded law firm with one of the nation's premier institutional investment management practices, is seeking an Investment Management Associate with 5-8 years of relevant transactional experience to join its Seattle office.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney interested in representing institutional investors on sophisticated investment transactions. The practice advises public and private pension plans, endowments, universities, sovereign entities, and insurance companies on a broad range of traditional and alternative investments. The successful candidate will play a meaningful role in complex transactions while working alongside a collaborative team recognized nationally for its work in the investment management space.

Responsibilities

  • Represent institutional investors in a wide range of investment transactions
  • Advise clients on:
    • Private equity investments
    • Hedge fund investments
    • Venture capital investments
    • Real estate investments
    • Alternative investment structures
    • Fund formation and investment management matters
  • Review, draft, and negotiate sophisticated investment and transaction documents
  • Conduct due diligence and risk analysis on investment opportunities
  • Manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate with attorneys across various practice groups on complex matters
  • Provide practical and strategic advice to institutional investor clients
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive and efficient service

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law
  • 5-8 years of relevant transactional experience, including experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Investment management
    • Investment funds
    • Fund formation
    • Private equity transactions
    • Capital raising
    • Related transactional practices
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple sophisticated matters simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Commitment to exceptional client service
