Position Description:
Our client, an internationally recognized law firm, is seeking a junior-level Finance Associate to join its expanding Structured Finance practice in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in developing expertise in complex structured finance transactions within a sophisticated and growing practice.

The ideal candidate will have one to two years of finance-related experience, strong academic credentials, and a demonstrated interest in collateralized loan obligation (CLO) transactions. Experience representing investment banks, asset managers, or other financial institutions in structured finance matters is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with a variety of structured finance transactions, including collateralized loan obligation (CLO) matters
  • Support attorneys in the representation of financial institutions, investment banks, asset managers, and other market participants
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to finance and structured products transactions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents
  • Participate in transaction management and due diligence processes
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to support client objectives

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to obtain admission
  • One to two years of general finance experience at a law firm or comparable legal environment
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Demonstrated interest in structured finance and CLO transactions
  • Experience with investment bank and/or asset manager representations is preferred
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
