Amarillo-based Fermi America, which was co-founded by former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, went live on the Nasdaq on Wednesday and on the London Stock Exchange on Thursday.Haynes and Boone capital markets lawyers in Dallas and London led a team that represented Amarillo’s Fermi America in a $682.5-million IPO.
The company has been simultaneously listed on Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange, the first dual listing in about 30 years.
The IPO came down to the wire as SEC regulators approved the registration statement on Tuesday, the day before the government shutdown went into effect.A capital markets team at Haynes and Boone in Dallas and London faced an unexpected complication — a government shutdown — as it neared closing of a $682.5-million IPO for Amarillo data center company Fermi America, with the company subsequently listed on both the Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange.
