Position Description:
Permanent Placements is seeking a Conflicts Attorney on behalf of our client, a nationally respected, full-service law firm with offices across the United States. Our client has more than 1,100 attorneys across 22 offices and a legacy dating back to 1885. The firm is known for its collaborative culture, client-first approach, and commitment to community engagement. It provides comprehensive legal services across a wide range of practice areas and operates under a decentralized leadership model.
Position Overview
The Conflicts Attorney will join a dedicated conflicts team and support attorneys across multiple offices by ensuring compliance with professional responsibility and conflicts-of-interest obligations. This role is well suited for an attorney with prior conflicts experience in a mid- to large-sized law firm environment.
This role is fully onsite and may be based in one of the following office locations: Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, or Minneapolis.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze conflicts searches for new business and lateral matters
- Identify and assist in resolving potential ethical conflicts
- Collaborate with Conflicts Counsel, General Counsel, and firm attorneys
- Assist with lateral onboarding, engagement letters, and conflict waivers
- Draft ethical screen memoranda and manage ethical walls
- Maintain and update client and matter data in conflicts systems
- Participate in database clean-up and process improvement initiatives
- Provide responsive support to attorneys and legal support staff
- Travel to other U.S. offices as needed
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor required
- 2+ years of experience in a law firm conflicts department
- Knowledge of legal ethics and professional responsibility rules
- Intapp experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
- Base salary range: $130,000 – $150,000, depending on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package offered
