Position Description:
Our client, a leading Am Law firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Litigation Practice in Richmond, Virginia. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 2-3 years of litigation experience who is interested in handling sophisticated complex commercial litigation matters in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced litigators on all phases of litigation, including legal research, motion practice, discovery management, and case strategy. This role offers significant client exposure, substantive responsibility, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters.
- Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
- Manage and coordinate written discovery, document production, and other discovery-related activities.
- Support all phases of litigation, from case inception through resolution.
- Assist with case strategy development and trial preparation.
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients to deliver effective legal solutions.
- Manage multiple assignments while maintaining strong attention to detail and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- 2-3 years of litigation experience.
- Experience handling complex commercial litigation matters.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to client service.
- Admission to the Virginia Bar or eligibility to promptly waive into Virginia.
- Experience in federal court is highly desirable.
- Federal judicial clerkship experience is strongly preferred but not required.
