Position Description:
Our client is seeking a mid-senior level associate (4-6 years of experience) to join its Commercial Litigation Practice. The candidate would work with some of the firm’s largest and well-known national clients across a broad range of industries. As a member of the Commercial Litigation Team, the candidate will join a leading national law firm and work on complex litigation matters in federal and state courts. Qualifications Include:
1. Experience in complex commercial litigation including, but not limited to, business disputes (e.g., limited liability company, corporate and partnership disputes); class actions; contract disputes; real estate lending; financing and leasing disputes; and other types of commercial disputes
2. Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, oral advocacy, and discovery skills to include managing large document productions and preparing for/taking depositions
3. Courtroom experience is a plus
4. Am Law 100 experience is a plus
5. A strong academic record, having earned a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited school; Law Review or Journal experience is a plus
6. Must be admitted to practice law in the state of Washington or eligible to be admitted to practice in Washington State
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated the following attributes:
1. Exceptional project management skills
2. Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills; law review or other comparable experience indicating significant research and writing skills a plus
3. Ability to draft, with minimal supervision, pleadings, motion papers, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other standard documents, pursuant to custom and practice in Washington State and federal courts
4. Ability to manage a fast-paced, complex workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues
5. The professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative team environment
