PARALEGAL – RESTRUCTURING, INSOLVENCY AND BANKRUPTCY – LOS ANGELES OR NEW YORK
Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Paralegal
Location: Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY
Salary Range: $102,000 – $145,000 (based on experience)
Our client, a leading law firm with a national presence, is seeking a full-time Restructuring, Insolvency, and Bankruptcy Paralegal to join their team in either their Los Angeles or New York office. This role will support both local and national practitioners within the firm’s Restructuring, Insolvency, and Bankruptcy Practice Group.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bankruptcy law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, interim, and final fee applications, as well as court documents and materials for hearings.
- Conduct lien searches and assist with analysis, schedules, and statements of financial affairs.
- Draft and reconcile proofs of claim and related documentation.
- Track statutory and case deadlines and prepare corresponding memoranda.
- Demonstrate familiarity with local rules across various jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with clients and financial advisors to prepare monthly operating reports.
- Assemble and manage ballot packages, including tabulation, certification, and reporting.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the practice group.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 4–10 years of experience in bankruptcy law.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF tools, document management systems, and timekeeping software (e.g., Elite).
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- High level of discretion with confidential information.
