Litigation Legal Assistant – Jacksonville, FL
Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is ideal for a legal professional with at least two years of experience in litigation support who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute meaningfully to a collaborative legal team.
Key Contributions:
- Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents including briefs, motions, discovery, pleadings, memos, and correspondence.
- Perform complex administrative tasks requiring knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- File legal documents in district, state, and federal courts as needed.
- Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings, depositions, and travel.
- Maintain attorney calendars, including court deadlines and appearances.
- Enter billable time and assist with editing time entries and pre-bills.
- Process expense reimbursements.
- Handle incoming calls, mail distribution, and document preparation for shipment.
- Open and maintain client and case files, as well as organizational records.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Support additional administrative responsibilities as needed.
The Essentials:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or secretary in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with district, state, and federal court procedures, including electronic filing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
