Litigation Legal Assistant – Jacksonville, FL

Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is ideal for a legal professional with at least two years of experience in litigation support who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute meaningfully to a collaborative legal team.

Key Contributions:

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents including briefs, motions, discovery, pleadings, memos, and correspondence.
  • Perform complex administrative tasks requiring knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
  • File legal documents in district, state, and federal courts as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings, depositions, and travel.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, including court deadlines and appearances.
  • Enter billable time and assist with editing time entries and pre-bills.
  • Process expense reimbursements.
  • Handle incoming calls, mail distribution, and document preparation for shipment.
  • Open and maintain client and case files, as well as organizational records.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Support additional administrative responsibilities as needed.

The Essentials:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or secretary in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with district, state, and federal court procedures, including electronic filing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
