Position Description:
Our client is seeking an Associate with 5+ years of experience with consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues to join its Chambers-rated Capital Markets practice.
This team of dedicated consumer and commercial credit regulatory lawyers has extensive experience guiding clients through the process of obtaining all required licenses and agency approvals and establishing state-of-the-art compliance programs. They advise clients on the development of innovative financial products and services within existing regulatory frameworks, which often includes representing clients before federal and state regulators on various consumer and commercial credit regulatory matters, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and virtually every state mortgage banking department. The attorney joining this incredible team will have the opportunity to work on financial services regulation, with a specific focus on mortgage and consumer credit regulation and licensing.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a broad range of consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues
- Conducting research on various consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues on both the federal and state levels
- Working on legal memoranda analyzing consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues
- Conducting diligence of various counterparties in the mortgage and consumer credit space
- Working collaboratively with the team to carry out all aspects of regulatory licensing for their clients
