Position Description:
Our client is seeking an Associate with at least 2 years of 1st party insurance coverage litigation experience for their thriving Chicago practice. Qualified applicants must have 1st party insurance coverage experience and be admitted to practice in Illinois. Dual qualification with Indiana is a plus!
Candidates will be expected to:
- Regularly conduct 30(b)(6) depositions, as well as the depositions of insureds, public adjusters, engineers and building contractors.
- Conduct examinations under oath, along with ancillary legal research and author coverage opinions to both claims adjusting personnel and in-house counsel;
- Defend coverage and extracontractual liability matters in state and federal courts, as well as the prosecute declaratory judgment matters on issues of insurance coverage;
- Oversee and provide advice to claims personnel and in-house counsel on property insurance appraisals.
