Practice Summary:
Their Labor & Employment Group provides corporations with strategic legal advice on all matters concerning the employment relationship. With nearly 200 practitioners around the globe, they offer national and international organizations strategic and practical legal services that are focused on maximizing human resource potential. They are trial lawyers and regularly try cases to verdict. Their Labor & Employment trial team is regularly called upon to handle complex, bet-the-company cases and has taken three cases to the U.S. Supreme Court in the past 10 years. Their experience in class and collective litigation is wide-ranging, having handled over 100 such cases in the last three years alone. Their experience with the courts, counsel, and judges across their global footprint that are routinely involved in such matters gives their clients access to critical information utilized to aggressively and efficiently respond to and defend such matters. Their skilled Labor & Employment Group has in-depth experience structuring corporate transactions aimed at maximizing managerial flexibility and labor efficiency, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, trying labor arbitrations throughout the country, and assisting employers to lead and manage in ways that best fit their cultures.
Position Description:
Our client seeks a third to fifth year associate for the Labor & Employment practice of their San Francisco office. Ideal candidates will have experience representing employers on both a class and individual basis with respect to wage and hour compliance, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, employee accommodations, personnel policies, and employment agreements, along with other labor and employment issues. Traditional labor (labor management) skills are a plus.
Qualified candidates will have solid academic performance in law school, strong interpersonal, writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the desire and initiative to “take ownership” over work and career. Candidates must be in good standing with the CA State Bar.
