Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid – minimum 3 days in-office)
Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Legal Executive Assistant to support multiple attorneys, including partners, within their Washington, D.C. office. This role is ideal for a proactive, highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is passionate about supporting high-level legal practitioners.
Position Summary
The Legal Executive Assistant plays a critical role in enabling attorneys to focus on their legal practice by managing day-to-day operations, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring seamless communication and execution of priorities. This position requires a high level of discretion, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including calendar management, travel coordination, and meeting preparation.
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys and internal departments, clients, and external contacts.
- Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other legal documents.
- Manage billing processes, including prebilling, budget monitoring, and liaising with billing and collections teams.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, practice group sessions, and client team engagements.
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems in compliance with firm policies.
- Support litigation teams, including potential travel for trial-related activities.
- Exercise sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Delegate tasks to legal support staff while maintaining oversight and accountability.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of executive administrative experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality.
- Must be willing to travel periodically for trials (1-2 times per year)
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience supporting Patent Litigation, ITC, and IPR filings.
